FunnelVerify

Let’s verify your first store.

FunnelVerify is a Chrome extension. Pin it, open a public Shopify storefront, then run an automatic test. About two minutes.

  1. Step 1

    Pin FunnelVerify to Chrome

Keep the extension one click away.

  2. Step 2

    Open your Shopify storefront

    Use the public customer domain.

  3. Step 3

Click FunnelVerify and run Automatic Test

    It stops before payment.

1. Pin FunnelVerify to Chrome

  1. Click Chrome’s Extensions icon.
  2. Find FunnelVerify.
  3. Click the pin icon.
  4. Select FunnelVerify whenever you want to test a store.

2. Open your Shopify storefront

Open the public customer-facing domain, for example https://yourstore.com. You do not need to use https://yourstore.myshopify.com.

FunnelVerify can detect standard Shopify signals on a custom storefront domain.

Prepare the store

  • The storefront is publicly accessible.
  • Your cart is empty.
  • Your ad blocker is disabled for the test store.
  • Marketing cookies have been accepted if the store requires consent.
  • You have permission to test the store.

3. Click FunnelVerify and run Automatic Test

Open your Shopify store, then select FunnelVerify from Chrome’s Extensions menu. A website cannot open the side panel for you.

Click Run automatic test. Confirm you have permission, then keep the storefront tab open.

4. Automatic vs manual

Automatic test

  1. FunnelVerify finds a product and adds one available item.
  2. It opens the cart and starts standard checkout.
  3. It stops before entering checkout information.
  4. It attempts to remove the test item.
  5. Review the report.

Manual test

Click Start manual test, then browse the store yourself.

  1. Open a product.
  2. Add it to the cart.
  3. Open the cart.
  4. Start checkout.
  5. Return to FunnelVerify to inspect the report.
  6. Only test Purchase if you intentionally complete a real or authorized test order.

Manual mode is useful for customized themes, bundles, subscription products, special product option apps, and Purchase verification.

5. Review the report

ObservedObserved
The storefront action succeeded and the expected event was detected.
Not observedNot observed
The action succeeded, but FunnelVerify did not see the expected event.
Couldn’t testCouldn’t test
FunnelVerify could not safely operate that part of the theme.
Manual test requiredManual
The step is intentionally excluded from automatic testing.

Customized themes

If automatic mode cannot find a control, open Settings → Automation targets. You can help FunnelVerify locate:

  • Product links
  • Product form
  • Add to Cart button
  • Cart region
  • Checkout button

Use Pick element on the storefront, then run the test again.

6. Troubleshooting

Shopify not detected

  • Confirm this is the public storefront.
  • Reload after installing the extension.
  • Confirm site access is granted.
  • Custom or headless storefronts may not expose standard Shopify signals.

No events detected

  • Disable ad blockers on the test store.
  • Accept marketing consent when appropriate.
  • Confirm the Meta Pixel is configured.
  • Reload the storefront after changing consent.
  • Confirm you are testing browser events, not only server-side events.

Cart isn’t empty

  • Remove existing items manually.
  • Run the test again.
  • FunnelVerify will not remove pre-existing items.

Add to Cart couldn’t be operated

  • Try manual mode.
  • Verify that a product variant is selected.
  • Check whether the product is sold out.
  • Use Settings → Automation targets.

Checkout couldn’t be operated

  • Confirm the normal checkout action is present.
  • Ignore accelerated checkout buttons.
  • Try manual mode if the theme uses a custom cart or bundle app.

Test item remains in the cart

  • Open the cart.
  • Remove the item manually.
  • Cleanup can fail after cross-origin checkout navigation or customized cart behavior.

You’re ready to test your store.

Open your Shopify store, then select FunnelVerify from Chrome’s Extensions menu.
